Executive Directors Report
Good afternoon. After sending you communications all week about the Roads Bill, I figured I’d give your inbox a break and did not send you anything last Friday. Here we are a week later, and I wanted to give you an update.
We have had a busy session this year at the Statehouse. This was the first session of the 122nd South Carolina General Assembly, and it was the first year of a shorter session. Last year the General Assembly voted to end the session on the second Thursday of May instead of the first Thursday of June. Three weeks makes a lot of difference when it comes to politics, and this year’s session ended last Thursday. Conference Committees are still meeting and legislators will return next Tuesday to finalize the budget and a few bills.
