The legislature returns Tuesday, January 14, 2020, and we will hit the ground running.
In the off-season, SCSPE has been working on introducing new legislation dealing with indemnity. I met with Senator Alexander’s Chief of Staff, Lisa Widner, on December 17, 2019, to discuss the Designer Fair Contracting Act. Senator Alexander wanted a little more information on the bill. Hobart Trotter, AIA-SC’s Lobbyist, joined me in the meeting. Ms. Widner understood what we were asking for, and thought this would be sufficient for Senator Alexander to introduce the legislation. We hope to see it introduced early in the session.
