Good morning. Who is ready for the virtual SC Engineering Conference this week? I know we are here at HQ. More on the conference below.
Five months ago today on March 11, 2020, the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19 Pandemic was declared by the World Health Organization. As of Monday March 10, 2020, the US has seen 4,974,959 cases and 161,284 deaths. Here in South Carolina we have seen 100,431 cases and 1,966 deaths.
With most of our members now proficient in Zoom, WebEx, Teams, and Meets, do we really still call this the new normal, or is this just normal now? As NSPE and SCSPE adjust to this normal, we have to continue to analyze how we host meetings, conduct business, and interact with our membership. For now SCSPE and most of the SCSPE Chapters are committing to virtual meetings for the time being. We are currently looking in to speakers to host the Fall Symposium as a virtual event.
Our legislative activities continue to be on the congressional front. Yesterday we sent this email to our congressional delegation. Click here to continue reading SCSPE Executive Director Adam B. Jones’ report.
