I hope you have thawed out and had a good and productive week. The General Assembly came back to Columbia on Tuesday. Though not much happened this week, we are already seeing the bills we are monitoring start to move. S. 579 covers the update on the building codes and is set for a subcommittee hearing on January 17, 2018, at 10:00 AM in room 307 of the Gressette Building. Though we have made some significant changes to the bill originally introduced, we do not want the bill to pass. We will be there on the 17th to testify if needed. AIA-SC, Carolinas AGC, the Municipal Contractors and other groups will be there in opposition. If you are available please join us that morning.
