The SC Society of Professional Engineers’ President Carlos Gittens, PE, F.NSPE gave the first ever SCSPE President’s Award to Ivan Henderson, PE. The award is given to an individual of the President’s choosing who has provided outstanding service during that President’s term including aiding them in achieving their goals for the year, providing mentorship or guidance or other support. Henderson is a recent graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He is an Industrial Engineer in Training working as a Process Engineer at FloraLife. At FloraLife, Henderson co-leads an operation tactical business unit that works on reporting and planning projects such as global/business unit capacity planning and production output reporting.
He is an active member of the SCSPE Charleston Chapter, where he serves as the liaison between SCSPE Charleston and the Charleston Engineering Joint Council (CEJC). Henderson is the Marketing Chair for CEJC. He worked closely with CEJC and SCSPE Charleston to give the CEJC / SCSPE Charleston Lee Clippard Scholarship.
He is a mental and fitness health enthusiast. While at Francis Marion, Henderson was a walk-on to the Cross Country and Track and Field team, where he ended up earning scholarships.
Henderson is what SCSPE looks for in a Young Engineer. SCSPE hopes to build on Henderson’s passion and keep him active on the Chapter and State levels.
